Janice Hazelcorn - Executive Director

Janice, Scott's mother, serves as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Foundations' Board. Janice is responsible for coordinating the operations of the Foundation with the Board's policies. She is a dental hygienist and an interior designer.


Charles Hazelcorn - President and Treasurer 

Chuck, Scott's Father, is a consultant and a retired partner in the Litigation Service Group at theNew York office of the accounting and advisory firm of EisnerAmper LLP, one of the largest accounting firms in the nation with nearly 1,500 employees. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.


Susan Isakoff Berlin 

SUSAN I. BERLIN, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, having been in private practice for over 34 years. Ms. Berlin retired in August of 2015 and now devotes her free time to fundraising for a variety of child oriented programs. During the past 49 years, as both an educator and then a psychotherapist, Ms. Berlin has worked with a varied population, including children and adults dealing with grief, bereavement and issues of loss. She holds a NJ State teacher's license, and has taught courses at Rutgers, The State University, as a visiting part time lecturer. In 2010 Ms. Berlin authored, along with her husband, Bill Berlin, a children's book; "The Kvetch Who Stole Hanukkah",  published by Pelican Publishing Company. Ms. Berlin feels privileged to have served as Camp Haze's licensed clinical therapist since the camp’s inception in the summer of 2002 until its final summer in 2013.


Ronald F. Ries, CPA – Secretary 

Ron is a partner in the accounting and consulting firm of WeiserMazars LLP in New York City. Ron has significant experience providing audit, tax and consulting services to both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Ron specializes in various types of not-for-profit organizations, including educational, artistic, philanthropic, chartiable, social, religious and trade associations. Mr. Ries earned his BBA. from the City College of New York and is a licensed CPA in the State of New York.


Bill Berlin 

Dr. Bill Berlin is Professor of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University, where he served as Chair of the Department for 7 years. He is a widely published writer and an Emmy award-winning television producer. In addition, Dr. Berlin served as host of Montclair State University’s television series, Carpe Diem. He is the author of two books, along with numerous

articles on such issues as health, housing, and public affairs. Dr. Berlin was Senior Producer/Writer for Caucus: New Jersey, the national award winning PBS public affairs series, until 2011.  Dr. Berlin now serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Caucus Educational Corporation (CAC) as well as Vice Chair of the Board of NJ’s Court Appointed Special Advocates program (CASA.)


Peggy Cohen 

Peggy has been retired since October, 2011 from the Office of Cooperative Education at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ where she had worked since 1986 placing students from a wide variety majors in internships. Prior to her tenure at NJCU, Peggy worked in sales, as a teacher for the New York City Board of Education, and as a VISTA Volunteer in California and Indiana. Peggy holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from New Jersey City University and a BA in Speech Therapy from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY. Peggy has served as a Volunteer for Adult Literacy in Union County, NJ, and currently serves as Board Secretary for the Foundation.


Eric Hazelcorn 

Eric, Scott's brother, graduated Ramapo College in 2003 with a degree in Environmental Studies. In 2010, he graduated with a Master's degree in Elementary Education from New Jersey City University. He currently works and resides in New Jersey. 


Rich Whalen 

Rich is one of Scott's childhood friends. Rich has over 15 years of Marketing/Advertising experience and currently leads operations for NY advertising agency McCann Erickson. He has been with Camp Haze since it's inception in 2001, having served as a Board member, counselor, photographer, and web master (well, master is a stretch).
